BeautyConLA....
BeautyConLA was held on July 11, 2015 at LA MART in Los Angeles, CA. I bought General Admission tickets so the entry time was 12PM. My friend and I arrived sometime after that. We decided we should walk instead of paying $40.00 for closer parking. As we arrived, I noticed the line. THE LINE. OMG. General admission line went all around the event and we were the last in line. I thought to myself, "it'll probably take about 2 hours before we get in!!!" I remembered how long it took last year to get in with VIP tickets when the line was shorter so I was a little worried. To my surprise, we only waited less than ten minutes! We probably took about 10 steps and the guard let us in through the outdoor entrance. The woman checking our tickets did not scan them so I thought...We could've just gotten one ticket and used the same one! But...we are honest individuals so yea. And I do feel bad for the others before us who didn't get in right away.
The first thing on our mind was FOOD! There were a few food trucks but we decided on Greek. I'm so glad we decided on Greek. The food was AMAZING! We sat on one of the picnic tables and this man approaches us with a few questions. He had a badge with the title, "TALENT." He asked us, "What made you decide on attending BeautyCon?" I wasn't sure how to answer that. I wanted to attend because, duh, Beauty. Our conversation mainly consisted of our age and why we were there. Apparently, BeautyCon is for teens? I can see why that is. However, I don't see anything appalling with two grown women enjoying themselves at this event. Women of all ages are fond of "beauty." Speaking of age, we talked about how they should serve alcohol beverages for the "adults."
After thoroughly enjoying our food, we decided we wanted to go inside the building. At the entrance, there was quite a crowd waiting to get in. We stood waiting, too. One by one, the teens come marching in. We were cheek to cheek waiting to get in! Slowly, we moved one step at a time. There wasn't a line, just a crowd. Everyone is getting fussy and pushy. I had to yell at someone to stop pushing. Other girls were yelling at each other. Another girl passed out. All of this...for one hour. We chanted, "REFUND! REFUND! REFUND!" Well, we finally got in.
As we exited the elevator, I realized it wasn't as crowded as it was last year. Not bad, I must say. Cheek to cheek is no fun. We walked around, received some free gifts, checked out a few booths and we found a parent's lounge. We are NOT parents. However, we spotted TITOS VODKA! Score! We both order our drinks and asked the bartender how much the drinks were. She said, "COMPLEMENTARY." No friggin way! Apparently, the TALENT guy didn't know about this lounge.
We decided to go back outside after two drinks. Someone was at the stage talking so we took a look. Noah Cyrus and two other girls were introducing a singer. I can't recall the guy's full name but it starts with Sammy. He was a boy with bleach blond hair, dark brows and a rapper. I don't know how I feel about that but if the tweens love him, hey. After Sammy, Jack & Jack came on the stage. I had a few "WTF" moments but like I said, if the tweens love them...
We didn't stay for Becky G. We had about enough. Overall, BeautyCon was fun because of my company. I didn't hate it and I didn't love it. Below, you'll see a few pictures from the event. I didn't take many.
